Legal Places to consume Cannabis for Stoners
It is not legal to consume cannabis in most places around the world, therefore it is difficult for to recommend specific places as being “best” for people who use the drug. However, at few places cannabis has been decriminalized or legalized and you may find specific ‘Cannabis-friendly’ places or places that widely consume it in a ‘gray area’.
–Amsterdam, Netherlands: Amsterdam has a long-standing reputation as a destination for cannabis tourism, and while possession and sale of small amounts of cannabis is technically still illegal, Dutch policy of toleration enables the sale of small amounts in licensed coffee shops and they don’t prosecute personal possession of small amount of cannabis.
–Vancouver, Canada: Vancouver is one of the most liberal cities in Canada when it comes to cannabis, and it’s also home to several dispensaries and “compassion clubs” which cater to medical cannabis patients.
- California, USA: California is the first state in the US to legalize the medical use of marijuana in 1996 and later in 2016, it legalized marijuana for adult recreational use. There are hundreds of legal dispensaries across the state, and the cities of San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego are known for their liberal attitudes towards cannabis.
- Denver, Colorado, USA: Colorado was one of the first states to legalize recreational marijuana use, and Denver has a thriving cannabis culture. There are a variety of dispensaries and cannabis-themed tours and activities available in the city.
- Jamaica: Possession of small amounts of cannabis has been decriminalized in Jamaica, and Rastafarian religious use of cannabis is also legally protected. The island nation has a strong cultural association with cannabis and it’s widely accepted and consumed.
